AT&T Contributes $9,000 to United Way of Northwest Florida
United Way of Northwest Florida received a corporate gift of $9,000 from AT&T Florida. AT&T supports United Way nationally and in Northwest Florida through direct contributions and employee gifts.
“At AT&T, our mission is to connect people to their world where they live and work and do it better than anyone else,” said Ray Dubuque, Area Director, AT&T – Legislative and External Affairs. “United Way of Northwest Florida supports programs that directly affect our community and our citizens’ lives, connecting them with resources and expertise to improve their situation. United Way also supports organizations with proven results, which means that the support we give today has a greater impact in Northwest Florida. We are pleased to support United Way of Northwest Florida.” Bryan Taylor, President, United Way of Northwest Florida stated, “We are very grateful for the generous financial contributions of AT&T. However, the gift of Ray’s time and talent as a member, and currently chairman, of our board of directors, is invaluable.” United Way of Northwest Florida will use the gift to continue to help people in their six-county service area become more healthy, self-sufficient and involved in helping themselves and each other. United Way of Northwest Florida works toward achieving these goals by focusing on education, income and health. AT&T and the AT&T Foundation have been committed to advancing education, strengthening communities and improving lives for the past 25 years. Through its philanthropic initiatives and partnerships, AT&T supports projects that create learning opportunities; promote academic and economic achievement; and address community needs. As the AT&T Foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2009, more than $160 million was contributed through corporate-, employee- and AT&T Foundation-giving programs in 2008 alone. |
